What is IT Bootcamp
IT Bootcamp helps you get an inside look at teams’ work in an IT company. This project creates an emulator of a real IT company to immerse project participants in the business processes that occur in IT companies.
Participation in the project is paid. As of today, IT-Academy course graduates pay 699 Belarusian rubles (about 200 euros), and others pay 999 Belarusian rubles (about 280 euros).
In this project, participants can see all internal processes, from completing a test task and passing an HR interview to when an employee is fired. Participants are offered only real projects from clients with specific deadlines. Thus, each participant goes through a full cycle of work on a project, gaining practical experience similar to that of an IT specialist. This experience is a significant advantage when looking for a job in the future.
Who Can Become a Participant in IT-Bootcamp
Participation in Bootcamp is available to those who:
- Have knowledge in HR, BA, PM, UI / UX, Front-end, Back-end (Java, .Net, Python), DevOps, and QA for the junior level.
- Have an English level of A2 so that they can read technical literature and understand project requirements.
- Ready to devote about five hours a day to working on the project.
General Requirements for Participants:
To enter the project, you must complete the following stages:
- Apply through the Training Center website.
- Complete a test task.
- Pass an interview.
- Receive assignment to a real project.
How Does IT Bootcamp Work
Each participant is assigned an HR specialist and a mentor for the project’s duration. The HR specialist is responsible for onboarding and holding personal meetings to determine the participants’ emotional state, as well as monitoring the development of their soft skills. Support from the mentor includes technical consultations on specialization, code review, assessment of project artefacts, and technical interviews at the start and end of training. Among the mentors are trainers from the IT Academy, who are in the TOP-10, and expert practitioners from IT companies.
Work on the project lasts 4 months. Daily work on the project takes 4-5 hours. During this time, there are daily and weekly calls with the team, meetings with the customer, and discussions of the results of the two-week iteration (sprint) during the call.
In the end, the project worked on is defended, and a technical interview on employment issues takes place.
At Bootcamp, participants gain experience working in a team on a project. They also gain experience passing a technical and HR interview, feedback from interviewers, participation in meetups, and support from the Career Center of the Educational Center.
